AI consulting & deployment · Connecticut
AI that earns its keep.
We help nonprofits and small businesses figure out where AI actually fits, train their people to use it well, and build automation that gives teams capacity they didn't have before. No hype. No black boxes. Human judgment stays in charge.

The starting point
Your staff is already using AI. The question is whether you're ahead of it.
Most organizations are in one of two places: ignoring AI entirely, or a few employees quietly pasting company data into free tools with zero oversight. The first group is falling behind. The second is creating security and compliance risks it can't see.
We take organizations from "we should probably do something about AI" to a real strategy, trained employees, secure tooling, and automation that gives your team capacity it didn't have before.
What we do
Five ways we put AI to work
AI Strategy & Assessment
We map your workflows with the people who do the work, score where AI actually helps, and hand you a plan with phases, costs, and expected outcomes.

Training & Enablement
Role-specific training that gets your team past the chatbot: structured prompting, verification habits, and clear security boundaries.

Platform Deployment
Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI — set up as enterprise tools with proper data handling, not consumer accounts.
Learn more →
Automation & AI Agents
Purpose-built agents and workflows that execute real multi-step work — with human checkpoints where they matter.
Learn more →
Policy & Governance
Acceptable use policy, data classification, and vendor evaluation — in place before anyone touches a new tool.

Not sure where to start?
That's what the AI Enablement package is for — four sessions that take you from zero to a working, governed AI setup.
Start there →How an engagement runs
Policy before tools. Training before automation.
The order is the method. Every step builds on the one before it, and nothing gets deployed before the governance and the people are ready.
-
01
Discovery
We spend time with your team — leadership and the people doing the work. Actual conversations, not a questionnaire.
-
02
Assessment & roadmap
A written report: where AI fits, where it doesn’t, what it costs, and the order to do things in.
-
03
Policy & foundation
Acceptable use policy approved and enterprise tools configured before anyone touches a new tool.
-
04
Training
Role-specific sessions: effective prompting, verification, security boundaries, hands-on practice.
-
05
Build & deploy
Copilot, automation flows, custom agents — built, tested against your real workflows, deployed with guardrails.
-
06
Iterate & expand
Ongoing coaching and new use cases as your team gets comfortable. AI is a capability, not a one-time project.
Boundaries
What we don't do
We're upfront about scope. If a vendor won't tell you where their service ends, be suspicious.
Custom model training or fine-tuning.
We use existing models through their APIs and enterprise platforms. If you need model development, you need an ML engineering firm.
Unsupervised customer-facing AI.
Chatbots that hallucinate to your clients are a liability. Any customer-facing AI output goes through human review.
Replacing human judgment.
AI assists. Humans decide — especially in legal, financial, medical, and personnel matters.
Promising magic.
AI won’t fix broken processes or replace expertise you don’t have. We’ll tell you what it can realistically do — and when the answer is "not much."
Who you're working with
Certified on the tools we deploy.
Abatetech AI is the AI practice of Abate Technology Services — the same people who have run technology for Connecticut nonprofits for over two decades. We hold current credentials on the platforms we recommend, and we add new ones as we earn them.
